Leo Thomas III: Graduates and Joins FairHaven

FairHaven Funeral Home • May 16, 2019

FairHaven Funeral Home is pleased to congratulate Leo Thomas on his graduation from mortuary school. He joins FairHaven as the newest member of our staff.

It's our distinct pleasure in congratulating Leo Thomas III on his graduation from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro. The ceremony takes place later today.

"People don't typically think about the education and training involved in becoming a funeral director and embalmer," FairHaven Funeral Director Brittany Rewis Kalejta said. "There's also a long apprenticeship period."

Thomas has been studying for nearly three years and has completed two years of his apprenticeship training. Before becoming a licensed funeral director and embalmer, he will face national and state board exams.

"This is a huge accomplishment," Kalejta said. "We're very proud of him and we're happy he's agreed to join the FairHaven family here in Macon. We wish him the best as he embarks on this truly rewarding career with us."
